The global Würth Group has recruited its 75,000th employee, in Würth Brazil, Würth’s largest company in Latin America.
New sales representative Juliana Aragão was surprised on her first working day with the welcome as Würth Group’s 75,000th employee. As telesales rep, Aragão will look after Würth customers working in the Automotive Division: “I always wanted to work in an internationally active business such as Würth and am very happy that I have been given the chance to do so.”
Despite an increased focus on e-business and branch office expansion, the Würth Group said it considers direct selling to be the mainstay among its various sales channels: “One of Würth’s success factors is considering customers as equal partners. The Würth Group has more than 46,000 sales representatives on board who maintain personal relationships with more than 3.5 million customers worldwide and take care of their needs.”
Würth Brazil was founded in 1972. The subsidiary in Cotia has 1,300 employees on the payroll. The Group has more than 400 companies in over 80 countries, 32,000 of which are salaried sales representatives (approximately). Würth Group’s core business is trading in assembly and fastening materials.
In the Group’s core business, the Würth Line, the sales program for the trades and industry comprises more than 125,000 products: from screws, screw accessories and anchors to tools, technical chemicals and personal protective equipment. The Allied Companies of the Würth Group, which either operate in business areas related to its core business or in diversified business areas, round off the range by offering products for DIY stores, material for electrical installations, electronic components such as circuit boards, and financial services. They account for more than 40% of the Würth Group’s sales volume.
