The Würth Group has bolstered its infrastructure in Asia with the expansion of its central distribution centre in Haiyan, China.
The 36,000 m2 distribution centre will replace a number of warehouse scattered across China. The central supply hub will provide customised logistics, procurement, a lab and supply concepts for trade and industry customers in the Republic.
Construction is underway and will last 18 months.
“Situated southeast of Shanghai, the Haiyan location boasts an excellent infrastructure in the middle of the Chinese industry’s screw production centers,” explained Rainer Bürkert, Executive Vice President of the Würth Group.
The project is a cooperation between the Würth Group and the Haiyan Economic Development Zone. It will secure the long-term 1,024 jobs at the Chinese Würth line companies as well as creating job and growth opportunities in the region.

Würth’s core business includes the trade of assembly and fastening materials. Its significant global reach extends into North America, where its subsidiary recently saw Q1 2017 sales rise 8.3% to $179.2 million (as reported in Industrial Distribution). In three years, Würth Industry of North America has doubled in size to nearly $700 million in annual sales.
Serving Asia, Torque-Expo comes to Singapore this September (19-20) and will serve as an international networking and sales event for the distribution network for fasteners, fixings, tools, hardware and related industries. The show is well located for one and two day visits from senior buyers and executives in the South East Asia and the wider Asia region looking to renew existing contacts and source new products from manufacturers and suppliers in the region and beyond.
