Wiha’s magazine bit holder LiftUp 26one has now garnered four design awards, including a German Brand Award, the Focus Open Silver Award, the iF Design Award and the red dot Award.

The Black Forest hand tool manufacturer has cleverly combined thirteen easy-to-remove double bits in its handle and bit holder, so there’s a total of 26 different screw fastening types in a single tool.

Bits can be selected, removed and returned at the press of a button. The space-saving, load-lightening multi-tool also saves time otherwise spent changing or searching for tools.

The German Design Award is among the world’s most respected design competitions and imposes exacting standards on its winners and the award ceremony will take place in February 2018.

Presented by the jury at the Design Center Baden Württemberg, the Focus Open Silver 2017 award evaluates all the international entries based on criteria such as design quality, appeal, functionality, innovation content, ergonomics, interface design, usability and sustainability.

Ronny Lindskog, Marketing and Sales Director at Wiha, said: “We regard this award and the declared aim of this competition – highlighting tendencies in design and uncovering totally new solutions – as a very clear recognition of our design and development work.”
