According to US reports, a federal court has ruled in favour of Milwaukee Tool in a long-running case filed against Snap-On Tools back in 2014.

Fox6news reports that the jury found Milwaukee Tool was entitled to a “reasonable royalty” of $27.8 million after Snap-on was alleged to have used patented lithium-ion battery technology.

Milwaukee Tool originally filed lawsuits against six companies.

Journal Sentinel said that Snap-on strongly disagreed with the jury’s verdict and planned to “vigorously appeal” the decision.

Milwaukee Tool owner Techtronic Industries (TTI) – which also owns RYOBI and AEG – recently reported a new revenue record.
