TIMco, one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of screws, fasteners and fixings, is now distributing the plasterboard fixing GripIt that featured on Dragons’ Den in 2014.

GripIt received an £80,000 investment on Dragon’s Den by businesswoman, Deborah Meaden, and will now join TIMco’s product range.

GripIt is an innovative fixture for plasterboard which comes in four different colours, with each colour determining different weights of hold in plasterboard. The loading capabilities of GripIt are derived from a unique combination of mechanical innovation and physical engineering. Each component is designed to work in harmony to create what the firm describes as the most effective plasterboard anchoring device on the market today.

GripIt works on a three step basis: the user drills a hole into plasterboard, then places the GripIt into the drilled hole and simply turns the rotary insert which opens the GripIt wings for a strong hold. To remove, you can simply turn the wing screw in the opposite direction to release and re-use the GripIt again.

“We are really looking forward to working with TIMco and we are excited for what the future holds for the collaboration with both companies,” said Jordan Daykin, CEO of GripIt: “TIMco is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of over 5,000 product lines from around the world and GripIt is the perfect product to accompany their new innovative range.”

The decision to stock GripIt comes after TIMco decided to expand its entire range for merchants. GripIt joins a number of other new products that are on offer in the new TIMco catalogue, including high-performance power tools and accessories like the Japanese Auger bits and brand new stainless steel range.

Rebecca Fortescue, Marketing Manager at TIMco, said: “We’re delighted to be stocking such a well-known and unique product that has been backed by such a successful entrepreneur like Deborah Meaden. We hope that TIMco customers welcome the new addition to our expanded range and enjoy the capabilities of this impressive product.”
