Following the growth in demand for CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) construction, Simpson Strong-Tie has expanded its range with CLT connectors and fasteners, backed by technical support.

CLT was first introduced in the ’90s, designed to provide enhanced rigidity needed for larger and taller wood-framed buildings. Recognised as a green building product for its ability to sequester carbon, CLT taps into the movement to use sustainable structural building materials rather than more wasteful factory-based options, said Simpson Strong-Tie.

Simpson Strong-Tie believes the new range is Europe’s largest line-up of solutions for CLT connections. Key products include the AB255 S SH structural angle bracket, designed for installing CLT elements on wood using the SSH structural screws, offering high versatility and performance in horizontal and vertical directions.

The aforementioned Premium Fasteners – SSH Screw are for use with a wide variety of connectors where a high load capacity is required and designed as an ideal solution for CLT applications.

Sticking with the environment theme, Simpson Strong-Tie recently published its first sustainability report earlier this year.
