Three weeks after Sears Chairman and CEO Eddie Lampert blasted its power tool supplier for “seeking to embarrass” the company to wriggle out of its contract, the matter has been concluded.
Details are thin on the ground as to how the dispute was resolved. The Sears boss updated his blog post – the one where he explained the spat with One World, a subsidiary of Techtronic Industries – with a simple statement:
“The matter has been resolved to the mutual satisfaction of both parties and we look forward to continuing our relationship with One World.”
One World has supplied Sears with power tools and accessories under the Craftsman brand for almost ten years. The brand was recently sold to Stanley Black and Decker, but Sears will continue to retail the Craftsman product through its retail channels.
