Enfield, North London is the location of Screwfix’s 500th UK store, at Lumina Park.
The landmark store’s launch means the firm now employs over 10,000 staff. The retailer, which targets trade customers and ‘serious DIYers’, claims that it now has a store within a 20-minute drive of 90% of the UK population.
The store network is visited by 2.9m customers a year and Screwfix.com has 2.5 million unique visitors each week.
The firm, owned by Kingfisher, is also extending its reach internationally. It is opening five new stores in Germany in February alone.
Andrew Livingston, CEO of Screwfix, commented: “We’re immensely proud to be opening our 500th Screwfix store. This is a significant moment for our business and demonstrates our focus on continued growth to meet the needs of our busy customers.
“As we reach this milestone for Screwfix, I want to thank our staff and, of course our customers. Our success relies on their success, so we remain as committed as ever to making things easier for them.”
