US-show mainstay NIFMSE – the National Industrial Fastener & Mill Supply Expo – is back at Las Vegas next week and it’s going to be a significant one.
When the show opens in Sands Expo and Convention Center on 25 October it will be the first under new ownership, having been taken over by experienced exhibition company Emerald Expositions last November.
So the pressure is on – what will the new owners make of the fastener industry show stalwart? The early signs were encouraging – while last year’s show hit a new high of 600 exhibitor companies from 20 nations, the new owners expect this show to break new records and be up 10% in attendance and 15% in terms of exhibitors.
There are a host of new features being introduced to NIFMSE this time around, including the Rising Star programme, Exhibitor Invites and the Bring Your Own Distributor scheme. There’s also going to be a Source-Global Area at NIFMSE, a global business matchmaking desk where you can get in front of international manufacturers from the likes of China, Taiwan and India and get face-to-face with factories.
Not only that, but the new organisers have identified the trend for more distributors adding machinery, tooling and speciality tools to their product line-ups and have planned a welcome reception in the Machinery & Tooling area for manufacturers and suppliers.
Regular readers of Torque Magazine may remember we quizzed Karalynn Sprouse, Executive Vice President of the show’s new owner Emerald Expositions in a previous issue (Issue 7, July-August 2016). THREAD ARMOR – Thread Armor is an advanced anti-galling and lubricating thread coating, designed to extend the life of bolts up to 15 times while under intense torque and high friction loads. Thread Armor helps to ensure consistent clamp load. This product works well on stainless steel fasteners.
THERMOLOC 1500 – Thermoloc 1500 is ND’s highest temperature chemical threadlocker. Initially, it performs like a vibration dampening compound. Once temperatures reach 750°F (400°C), a secondary activation begins, causing the fastener to be permanently locked in place. Thermoloc has been tested to over 1,500°F (850°C).
