Lee Spring has expanded its range with 71 new items in its Die Spring catalogue.
The company is a major supplier of ex-stock die springs and these new items in music wire or OTCS (chrome silicon steel) reduce the gap between different standard lengths with additional options over 6 inch lengths, so making it easier to choose a suitable standard spring.
New lengths include 4, 5, 6, 7, 7.5 and 8 inch with 8 different outer diameters to suit medium (grey), medium-heavy (purple), heavy (black) and extra heavy duty (orange) loadings.
Similarly to other Lee Spring die springs, the new sizes are generally priced at 1/3 to 1/2 less than the cost of comparable rectangular wire springs, offering users a distinct value advantage – so says the press statement. In independent testing conducted by the Institute of Spring Technology, Lee Spring’s die springs demonstrated a life-expectancy equal to traditional rectangular wire die springs.
Ex-stock die springs are not solely used in dies but find application in clutches, brakes, farm machinery and aircraft mechanisms. They are ideal for use as die springs or as heavy duty compression springs for any high stress, heavy load application.
Lee Spring standard die springs are shot-peened for extended life and pre-set to prevent loss of length in service. They are supplied with closed and ground ends to provide square seating with a large bearing surface – they are suitable for orientation either way up and for use in heavy duty applications. They are powder coated for corrosion protection and custom variants are also available.
