The SKIL and SKILSAW brands are now officially under the ownership of Chervon, following the completion of the acquisition from Robert Bosch Tool. Now Chervon has full control over the two brands in North American market.
As part of a growth period for Chervon, the company is relocating to Naperville, Illinois to a 124,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility. By May, Chervon said it will have transitioned over 100 employees with plans to grow up to 200 over the course of the next few years.
Peter L.Q. Pan, President of Chervon (HK), said: “Both Chervon and SKIL are pioneers in the power tool market, making the acquisition a natural fit for us. We specialize in combining cutting-edge technology with exceptional quality to deliver the best tools to our end-users. SKIL complements our existing brand portfolio and approach, and further strengthens our competitive position in the global power tool and outdoor power equipment industry.”
Boltz: “Iconic brands with incredible awareness”
Chervon was reportedly the first power tool brand to mount lasers, in 2003. Later it purchased German angle grinder brand FLEX, launched EGO, a high capacity Lithium-Ion battery-driven outdoor equipment line. SKIL dates back decades, inventing the world’s first electric hand saw in 1924. Through the acquisition, Chervon said it aims to leverage that equity and infuse both brands with capital investment and new product development resources while staying true to the heritage and positioning of the brands”.
Bill Boltz, CEO of Chervon North America, added:“SKIL and SKILSAW are iconic brands with incredible awareness. We will maintain the high standards professionals demand of the SKILSAW brand and provide the resources to expand the assortment with a focus on professional cutting, leveraging our worm drive technology.”
