Brighton Best International (BBI) has snapped up two companies in recent weeks, including Australia’s Koala Nails and the USA’s PPE brand Ironclad.

Koala Nails

BBI is to acquire W & G Industries Pty Ltd, trading as Koala Nails. It said the move brings a new level of construction fastener expertise to the firm, both for Australia and the USA.

Koala Nails was founded in 1981 with a small nail manufacturing facility in Botany Sydney. Since then, the firm has extended its product range to include common nails, collated screws, loose screws, collated brads, pneumatic air nailers and staplers, nylon nail-it plugs, tie wire anchors and more. The firm has three warehouses in Australia.

Ironclad

Brighton Best has purchased the assets of Ironclad Performance Wear Corporation, which is – BBI said – “the recognised leader in performance hand safety solutions”.

Originally founded in 1998 in El Segundo, California, Ironclad is today HQ’d in Farmers Branch, Texas.

Ironclad operates in the safety, construction and industrial markets with specialised task-specific gloves for industries such as oil & gas extraction; automotive; police, fire, first-responder and military and more.

Ironclad’s gloves are available through industrial suppliers, hardware stores, home centres, lumber yards, automotive stores and sporting goods retailers nationwide; and through authorised distributors around the world.

Eric Jaeger is one of Ironclad’s original employees. He said: “The entire Ironclad team is excited to work with our new owners. BBI will help us accelerate our growth in the marketplace by bringing fresh capital and broader access to the market.”

Jun Xu, President of BBI, added: “Bringing together BBI’s distribution and logistics capabilities with Ironclad’s strength in product design and marketing for gloves, BBI sees the best of both companies being able to work together to create something that is greater than the sum of its parts.”

Jun Xu and the Ironclad team expressed their appreciation to customers, suppliers, and employees for their continued support and promised to “keep BBI and the IRONCLAD brand successful as we move forward by combining the strengths of each organisation”.
