BeA is bringing a new choice in structural timber screws to the UK market, BeFix.

BeFix is widely available across mainland Europe where they have, the brand said, become a popular choice with many leading names in timber frame engineering. BeA is hoping to emulate that success with customers in Great Britain, where it has introduced the range in response to growing demand from the market.

Initially, BeFix screws will be offered in range of sizes to accommodate specific applications in the UK. Customers will have the option of countersunk and large wafer head screws, with the latter offering the benefit of a low profile, improved aesthetics and significantly increased pull-over load resistance. BeA plans to grow the range available in line with demand.

“BeA already offers high quality, high performance solutions to a wide range of construction-focused fastening needs,” said Paul Shepherd, national sales manager at BeA. “The introduction of our BeFix screws to the UK market extends that capability. It also gives customers access to a new product choice which draws on the unrivalled expertise available across the global BeA group.”

BeA’s BeFix screws are CE approved and supported by declarations of performance covering key performance characteristics such as shear, withdrawal, head pull-over and bending load. They also meet or exceed the requirements of Eurocode 5 and it subsidiary standards. This includes being approved and CE marked for use in service class 1 and 2 applications as defined in Eurocode 5; BS EN 1995:2008.

The introduction of the BeFix screws complements BeA’s existing UK product offering which includes first fix nailers, positive placement nailers, brad nailers, steel and concrete nailers, and builders’ metalwork.
