Number crunching
The Big 5 Dubai says it is the Middle East’s largest construction event and it has some solid numbers to back that claim. There are 50 exhibiting countries at the show and a hugely impressive 2,586 exhibitors at the show. In terms of visitors, there are 142 participating countries (meaning just 53 countries in the world won’t be there) and around 78,579 participants.
Construction capital
Dubai has long held a reputation as a construction hotspot and there’s no sign of that changing soon. Interestingly, this maturing market still favours SMEs. Over 50% of 2017 awarded contracts go to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, according to the latest Expo 2020 Dubai report.
