DART’s premium impact driver bits and Makita’s LXT DTD155 18V brushless impact driver both feature in our latest product focus.

DART

DART’S Premium Impact Driver Bits are making their mark in the industry as wholesalers and end users realise the benefit of them, DART says. At a competitive price, they offer quality and durability, and are extremely tough and impact resistant. They are specifically designed for use with impact drivers and have a Magnesium Phosphate coating which gives them their excellent wear resistance. DART says regular user feedback says they offer a very tight fit with the screw, which enables increased accuracy for the tradesman.

The range has also been augmented with the addition of Slotted, Torx, Hex and Square – all with their own colour coding for easy identification. DART has also been implementing new packaging and all these Premium Impact Bits are available in a range of different packaging options – from ‘Tic-Tac’ box sizes for the packs of ten, to jars of a hundred and multiple counter top options, with the packs of ten coming in an attractive box
that takes 30 boxes.

DART has also supplied us with a genuine quote from an end-user: “I bought some DART PZ3 bits as an add-on item and didn’t expect much for the price – how wrong was I? Best bits I’ve had and I use them every day with the impact driver and they last much longer than any others I’ve tried. Only problem is the other guys on site keep asking for one when they break theirs!”

Readers can catch up with DART at Torque-Expo Coventry at the Ricoh Arena, 3-4 October 2018.

MAKITA

Makita’s popular, high performance range of LXT power tools now includes the new DTD155 18V Brushless Impact Driver, a compact (equalling the size of Makita’s 10.8V machines) and powerful machine. This model runs up to 3,000rpm in high mode, delivers 3,900 impacts per minute and generates 140Nm maximum tightening torque. Weighing a comfortable 1.4kg, this smart impact driver with slim motor housing, will drive home a high strength M12 bolt, a M14 standard bolt, M8 machine screw and 90mm coarse thread screw.

The new DTD155 impact driver features Makita’s Brushless motor technology which – according to Makita – substantially enhances the performance and longevity of the tool while reducing friction within the motor, so releasing greater power from the ‘engine’. This also extends the runtime of the battery and generates less heat, which in turn reduces maintenance. Featuring a variable speed trigger, electric brake, and forward/reverse rotation
selection, this model has low vibration and sound qualities, a 2-speed impact power selection, LED job light and comfortable soft grip handle.

The DTD155 also offers the new AMode (Assist-Mode) facility, helping eliminate screw cam-out and cross-threading thanks to rotation starting slowing, allowing maximum control of the screw as it starts to bite into the material.
