Kalil completed his Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship in February this year, passing with a distinction.
During his studies, he took over the day-to-day running of the
company’s trade store and took responsibility for stock
levels. He has been recently promoted to an internal account
manager role at MCP Fixings. Handing over the award on the
night was Sunco President Yoshihide Okuyama.

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVE OF THE YEAR

ACCU

Accu promotes and encourages team members to take part in
volunteering opportunities in their local community. In May 2023 they launched the AccuFoundation volunteering programme enabling all team members to complete one day’s paid volunteering. Team members benefit from the development of new skills, and physical and mental health improvements.
Following local fundraising efforts, the company wanted to
offer a team member the chance to contribute to a meaningful
cause somewhere a little further afield. Sending someone on an
all-expenses-paid fully immersive conservation experience. All
of TeamAccu were in with a chance of winning and Warehouse
Operative Kieran headed off on an expedition to Soysambu
Conservancy, nestled in the heart of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley

SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE OF THE YEAR

BRALO

Having integrated sustainability within its mission and values,
the company has developed a sustainability strategy for the
whole BRALO Group which includes several steps to achieve
their goals, going beyond a few environmental initiatives but
also covering other aspects of social welfare and corporate
governance.
Some of the steps Bralo have taken to improve their impact
on the environment include the installation of photovoltaic
modules to reduce its emissions, new washing machines to
reduce water consumption and leakages. Electricity
consumption is down, and they have implemented the use of
only recycled plastic in packaging. Handing over the award on
the night was Simon Wright from Optimas

WEBSHOP OF THE YEAR

HARRISON & CLOUGH

Harrison & Clough re-built its website and introduced a range
of new features and benefits including greater visibility of
stock levels, multiple ways to add stock to basket a dedicated
area for merchants, enhanced search capabilities, toolkits,
news, blogs and more.
Prior to the website changes only 6-7% of orders were
made by merchants online, while currently between 20-25%
of orders are now processed via the website. Delivering a
new website for staff as well as customers meant the sales
team could support customers in other areas. Handing over
the award on the night was David Duffy from Intact Software

PRODUCT INNOVATION – FASTENERS & FIXINGS

BIT-LOK™ Phillips Screw Company

Patent pending, the BIT-LOK™ system incorporates inter-locking
features on both the bit and the recess. When used on the drive
walls, once started, there is no force required to keep the bit in
the recess, the screw literally pulls the driver toward the work.
Benefits include easy driving in places where it is difficult to
supply force to the driver. Applications that require driving
screws in tight areas, such as cabinet and enclosures or work
overhead would benefit from this technology. Another benefit is
the reduced effort or energy needed and reducing the chance
for injury when driving many screws
